A class technique is a strategy that works on a class reference rather than an item reference. In the event that you set out to find the real story, you will find that class techniques are available in any event, when you havent made a case of the class (the article). Class Methods versus Item Methods Each time you make a Delphi part progressively, you utilize a class technique: the Constructor. The Create constructor is a class technique, rather than for all intents and purposes every single other strategy youll experience in Delphi programming, which are object strategies. A class strategy is a technique for the class, and properly enough, an article technique is a technique that can be called by an occurrence of the class. This is best outlined by a model, with classes and items featured in red for lucidity: myCheckbox : TCheckbox.Create(nil) ; Here, the call to Create is gone before by the class name and a period (TCheckbox.). Its a technique for the class, ordinarily known as a constructor. This is the system by which examples of a class are made. The outcome is an example of the TCheckbox class. These occasions are called objects. Complexity the past line of code with the accompanying: myCheckbox.Repaint; Here, the Repaint strategy for the TCheckbox object (acquired from TWinControl) is called. The call to Repaint is gone before by the item factor and a period (myCheckbox.). Class strategies can be called without an occasion of the class (e.g., TCheckbox.Create). Class strategies can likewise be called legitimately from an article (e.g., myCheckbox.ClassName). Anyway object strategies must be called by an occurrence of a class (e.g., myCheckbox.Repaint). In the background, the Create constructor is designating memory for the article (and playing out any extra introduction as determined by TCheckbox or its predecessors). Exploring different avenues regarding Your Own Class Methods Consider AboutBox (a custom About This Application structure). The accompanying code utilizes something like:procedure TfrMain.mnuInfoClick(Sender: TObject) ;beginAboutBox:TAboutBox.Create(nil) ;tryAboutBox.ShowModal;finallyAboutBox.Release;end;end;This, obviously, is an exceptionally pleasant approach to carry out the responsibility, however just to make the code simpler to peruse (and to oversee), it would be significantly more proficient to transform it to:procedure TfrMain.mnuInfoClick(Sender: TObject) ;beginTAboutBox.ShowYourself;end; The above line calls the ShowYourself class technique for the TAboutBox class. The ShowYourself must be set apart with the watchword class:class system TAboutBox.ShowYourself;beginAboutBox: TAboutBox.Create(nil) ;tryAboutBox.ShowModal;finallyAboutBox.Release;end;end; Things to Keep in Mind The meaning of a class technique must incorporate the saved word class before the methodology or capacity watchword that begins the definition.AboutBox structure isn't auto-made (Project-Options).Put AboutBox unit to the utilizations provision of the primary form.Dont neglect to pronounce the strategy in the interface (open) some portion of the AboutBox unit.

Persuasive Speech Bullying By Giving Reasons Why They...

Topic: Bullying General Purpose: To persuade. Specific Purpose: To persuade the audience to think before bullying by giving reasons why they should not bully. Thesis: Bullying has been a major social issue because research has found that bullying causes psychological harm and suicidal ideation; however, it can be prevented by simply following the Golden Rule. I. Introduction A. Attention Getter: I want to give you a split second to think back to the last time someone said something hurtful to you or made you feel less about yourself. According to Jordan Mansbacher, who served as clinical supervisor to staff at a local agency treating children with autism, adjunct professor of psychology at a local private university, states that twelve million children are bullied each year (2012). Philosophy Of Aristotle And Kant - 1780 Words

The aim of this essay is to summarize, interpret, and compare the understanding of prac- tical reason and practical deliberation in the works of Aristotle and Kant. Although traditionally seen as polar opposites, there is a substantial overlap in both philosopher’s conclusions about practical deliberation and principles of actions, which make for different understanding, assu- ming the interpretations seen so far (i.e. dealing away with a stringent understanding of Kant as a rule-moralist). The essay will follow first an understanding of practical reason for Aristotle, fol- lowed by an interpretation of practical deliberation. The soul, so understood, is inseparable but d istinct from the body, and acts as an inner principle of change2 of the subject towards other objects and itself. In that, it has to be active in order to produce acts that are formal and material change (De Anima, Book II, 1). In understanding living things, Aristotle firstly distinguishes a nutritive element of the soul, which involves growth, reproduction, and preservation, and is common to all forms of life.Secondly, there is a non-rational element of the soul, namely that of perception. This is a form of non-rational interaction with the environment, where through the senses, the being understands/ reacts to its reality, and forms basic desires (attraction/aversion) towards it. Aristotle considers this to be common to all animals, and passive, in that one can’t choose not to perceive. For this, desire-formation is non-rational, but it can be understood in terms of arà ªte, as excellent desires are in harmony with one’s good if under the influence of reason. Finally, there is the rational capacity of the soul, divided into the function of practical reason, which is the last moment of the first actuality before it turns into second actuality (action), and scientific reason, seen as the ability to understand empirical truths (through deduc- tion, induction) and theirShow MoreRelatedEssay on Comparing Three Philosophies of Education1531 Words   |  7 PagesComparing Three Philosophies of Education What is education? Efficacy refers to the maximum response achieved from a dosed agent. On the other hand, self-efficacy is the belief in oneself to achieve ones goals. Efficacy is medical term while self-efficacy is a term in the field of psychology or sociology. Efficacy is a therapeutic effect of a medical device, drug, or surgical procedure. But both efficacy and self-efficacy may have positive as well as negative impact on an individuals health. The rise in self-efficacy levels would help the students in the long run. Mostly, the accurate measurement of self-efficacy provides a basis upon which one can evaluate calibration accurately. This calibration is very crucial for IT students. The rise in self-efficacy levels would enhance performance, and ev eryone would benefit from this endeavor. The report aims to give an in-depth analysis of self-efficacy. Self-efficacy Self-efficacy is defined as the extent to which a person can stick to his/her decisions. It is a belief, which a person has his/her own ability to complete assigned tasks and reach goals. There has been extensive research on self-efficacy by psychologists. Self-efficacy affects the psychology, motivation and behavioral pattern of a person largely. There are some theories derived by psychologists on self-efficacy. Apparently, people think that they can achieve all goals that they set. However, most of them fail to put their plans into action. With time, people realize that it is hard to accomplish those tasks practically. Self-efficacy plays a pivotal role in a persons life for it greatly affects a persons thought process and motivation. Self-efficacy helps a person in facing the challenges and see them as tasks that they must master. Individuals with self-efficacy try to resolve the problems they face rather than avoiding them. They focus on the activities of their life and possess a strong sense of commitment. On the other hand, people with low self-efficacy fear about the challenges in life and see them as potential threats. They remain uncommitted to their goals and often fail to attain them. They lose faith and confidence very quickly and always think negatively about the difficult situations of life. They suffer from low self-esteem and suffer from stress and depression. They learn and achieve much less compared to people with high self-efficacy. Thus, a heightened sense of self-efficacy allows a person to recover quickly from disappointments and setbacks. They are more successful than people wi th low self-efficacy. Four factors primarily affect the self-efficacy. They are enactive attainment or experience, vicarious experience or modeling, social persuasion, and physiology. Environment and genes also affect self-efficacy. The self-efficacy of a person is badly hampered by stress and demonstrates his/her inability. There are numerous theoretical approaches of self-efficacy like the social cognitive theory, self-concept theory, social learning theory, and the attribution theory. The social cognitive theory emphasizes the role that social experience and observational learning plays for developing the personality. Postulated by Albert Bandura, social cognitive theory shows how observing actions of others influences an individuals cognitive processes, social behaviors, and personal actions or reactions (John 2013). External experiences play a significant part in determining self-efficacy of a person. Social learning theory elucidates acquiring skills developed primarily from a social group. Social learning develops personal skills and individual emotions and thereby helps an individual to accept others. It contributes to perceive the self in a better way as people learn by imitating others, or through observation. Self-efficacy illustrates a persons understanding and contribution in a group. Self-concept theory strives to explain self-concept as something that is organized, learned, and ever changing. The existence of an individual is interpreted through external sources and focuses on how the impressions remain alive throughout the life. The focus of attribution theory is on the attribution of events. Internal locus enhances or diminishes self-efficacy with success or failure respectively. Locus, stability, and controllability form the three broad elements of attribution theory. According to the attribution theory, the absence to cope up leads to a relapse and decreased self-efficacy. Inability to make a decision is a result of low self-esteem and must be addressed and resolved. Literature review Self-efficacy in IT This study examined the influence of self-efficacy in the Information technology sector and in awareness of goals. The investigation was done based on goal-setting theory, motivation sequence model, and the social cognitive theory. The study investigated such relationships using the ERP, that is, the Enterprise Resource Planning system. The study gave a deeper insight to the ERP system researchers into the importance of self-efficacy. As both IT self-efficacy and goal awareness have a positive influence on job satisfaction. Self-efficacy is related to and essential in using e-mail. People with high self-efficacy are bound to use computers more than individuals with less self-efficacy. Self-efficacy plays a positive role in establishing association between an employee and telecommuter. Moreover, people with more self-efficacy in using information technology have more work outcome. Also, the level self-efficacy have different preferences for using different technologies. Individuals wi th high self-efficacy are more efficient in using modern technology (Al-Haderi 2013). The dissertation aimed at examining the level of self-efficacy of teachers who use Interactive technology in language teaching. The name of the project is Interactive Technologies in Language Teaching. The aim of the project was to produce resources and training materials for teachers so that they can use interactive whiteboard technology in foreign language teaching. The project involves participation of seven European countries- France, Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, Wales, Germany, and Turkey. There was not much variation in the responses that the research team got from different countries. It was seen that teachers had high information and communication technologies but low self-efficacy with some tools and features of IWB. Self-efficacy thus plays a vital role in utilizing such technological tools. According to the author, perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness are the determining factors of technological use. A persons high level of self-efficacy positively influences the acceptance of technology. A teachers perception of technology and heightened self-efficacy helps in a contextualized and deeper understanding of technology. It helps in better acceptance of technology (Greenhow and Askari 2015). This article is based on a study that was conducted in adopting of social networking sites. It measured the effect self-efficacy in accepting the use of technology. 255 people from Thailand and Bangkok were selected for the purpose. The data was analyzed through structural equation modeling techniques. The research revealed that computer experience and knowledge had a positive influence on an individuals self-efficacy. The reverse is also true. Social factors do not effect much in the improvement of self-efficacy in case of computer technology. In fact, self-efficacy directly influences usefulness and indirectly influences the intention of an individual to use information technology. Social networking sites like facebook, twitter, YouTube, or LinkedIn influences a persons self-efficacy level in performing a computer related task (Sheng et al. 2012). In this article, a study was conducted by Park and his colleagues to detect the importance of self-efficacy and the effect that it may have on the belief of individuals. Self-efficacy defines and judges a users ability to perform work related to information technology. It was found that technological readiness, self-efficacy, and innovativeness of a person are more important determining factors than demographic ones like gender, age, or education. It was also revealed that old users with high self-efficacy accept technology more than new users with low self-efficacy. Studies also reveal that self-efficacy has a strong influence on use of a system as they have a perceived sense of ease in effectively using the system. High self-efficacy have a positive impact on the use of technological systems (John 2013). The literature review of four research work shows the importance of self-efficacy in the field of information technology. Every study indicates that variation in self-efficacy levels affects the performance and output of people largely. The method to measure self-efficacy levels is different in each case. The conducted research measures and compares the performance of different people in different country from various fields. The studies show how self-efficacy levels may influence individual performance and productivity. There is always a positive relationship between high self-efficacy, utilization of computers, and usage of modern technological tools. It is further seen that employees with low self-efficacy levels integrate and seek technology more effectively. Conclusion As self-efficacy and self-confidence play a vital role in the field of information technology, it is of utmost importance that faculty gives students a proper education. The rise in self-efficacy levels would enhance their performance, and everyone would benefit from this endeavor. The scores of the study would direct the attention of the faculty towards the students. The rise in self-efficacy levels would help the students in the long run. Mostly, the accurate measurement would provide a basis to the faculty upon which they can do their evaluation accurately. This is very crucial for people using information technology in their work place. Self-efficacy is something that must be taught to students in school. Watching their peers succeed would boost the confidence level of students. Teachers must strive to instill in students positive beliefs. Balance in emotional level would energize the students and lead to better performance. Boosting self-efficacy in students right from the very beginning would help the students to cope up with difficult situations in a better way. Teachers can, in an effective way help students to reduce stressful situations and lower anxiety levels. Self-efficacy is the level of confidence and the belief in oneself that a person possesses. There are many occasions in ones life where a person feels that he/she is not able to cope up. In my life, I faced a situation of low-efficacy when I was asked to take a class on computer applications and give a presentation. Since I had never addressed such a large audience, my self-efficacy was underdeveloped. But after a few minutes, I found that I was able to speak confidently. My self-efficacy level increased once I undertook the task. After conducting the class, I saw that there were others like me who were giving a lecture for the first time. They were in the learning process and were beginners like me. Seeing them, I found my self-efficacy level soaring for I had a feeling that if they can do it, I can also do so. As I got encouragement from my instructor and professor, I felt more confident. I again found my self-efficacy growing. My sense of low-efficacy, nausea, and high heart rate, all vanished within a few minutes. Nevertheless, low self-efficacy has never stopped me completely from achieving my goals. Whenever I faced a situation of low self-esteem, I tried to overcome it. However, once you gain a high level of self-efficacy, it is very unlikely that you would again face difficulty in your performance. Mostly, for a given task, a student's sense of self-efficacy depends on upon the way a student learns the task. Experiences in ones life further help a person to overcome low self-efficacy. The Comparative Advantage Gains from Trade free essay sample

Discusses comparative trade theory, wherein nations assess their production strengths weaknesses create trade pacts that serve each accordingly. The Comparative Advantage Gains from Trade Introduction It is important to not confuse the terms comparative and competitive as they apply to the goals and ideals of world trade. Kennedy and Koelim (1996) find that despite this wide acceptance in the professional community, the basics of international trade are still poorly understood by many policy makers and casual commentators (1). The comparative advantage theory has been a part of international economic studies since it was created by David Ricardo, an economist who lived in the 17th century. Ricardos theory was that each nation has good points and bad points in its economy. In the classic example of two countries, Ricardo sets up a model where Germany and France only..

PEST Analysis of Nike Term Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words

PEST Analysis of Nike - Term Paper Example Political Analysis The US government has sought to create economical policies that are essential to foster the growth and development of business that either are situated or have their headquarters in the United States. Nike is a major beneficiary of these policies that have been implemented by the US government. In order to support the Nike brand, the US government has established fundamental measures that include low interest rates, an international competitive aspect of the tax system, stable economic environment, and vital economical resources for the benefit of the company. This has demonstrated to be a factor in the development of Nike. 1(Thottam, "A New Push against Sweatshops") The nature of the political situation in various countries is a vital factor that has played a part in the growth of Nike into a multinational company. The organization has expanded to China, which boasts of a highly stable government and political environment. It has proven to be a vital factor that h as motivated the US Company to establish a plant in the country to reach a larger audience, especially in the eastern region of the world. Political stability in a country is critical in terms of establishing a solid platform for business growth in a region. A lack of political stability will generate uncertainty regarding a business’ future and hence a company will not seek to develop in a country posing political uncertainty. Economic Analysis The biggest problem that serves to affect the level of a company’s business is recession. When the latter occurred, Nike was adversely affected thus reducing its growth. With the US economy facing a down turn, it has resulted to reduction in consumer purchases. Consequently, this has affected the sales volume for the company. Nevertheless, Nike being a multinational company is able to rely on sales from other regions, particularly Africa, which was not as much affected by the recession 2(Stepp, "Nike is Right"). The main proble m with the case of the recession is that it affected other regions such as Asia and Europe. Nike has a high volume of sales in Asia and Europe, in comparison to Africa. The fact that Asia has a high population density and Europe has popular sports brands, the sales level was adversely affected. Nike was among the companies that suffered from this recession. The recession limited the growth of the company, and may have resulted in the company having to close a number of stores in various regions to avoid continuous loses. Aspects such as labor costs and materials for production were increasing, which meant that Nike was constantly in the red (recording losses). If the situation continues with the weakening of the Euro and the Asian currencies, Nike may be in a recession as well based on shrinking growth, and Africa may not be the ideal solution in maintaining company sales (until Africa is eventually affected by the Recession). Society Analysis The general trend in society is the con cern on health. The major stereotype in the United States is the fact that there are an increasing number of obese individuals. This has led to the increase in individuals joining fitness clubs. Nike can seek to capitalize on this factor by selling merchandise that is essential to those seeking to join fitness clubs. Shoes, overalls and accessories such as water bottles

Citizen Kane Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Citizen Kane - Essay Example Citizen Kane, the movie employs a number of production features and elements thereby achieving effectiveness of communication as envisioned by the director. The director of the employs such elements as light, costume and characterization among others effectively thereby developing an appropriate context that best represents the society at the time. Produced in 1948 soon after the second world war, the film addresses themes relevant not only to the primary audience but also to other subsequent audiences including the communication 240 class, a feature that portrays the ability of the director to develop and communicate concepts effectively.Citizen Kane is yet another masterpiece in which the director employs different special film effects to earn effective communication. The director employs appropriate transitions from one scene to another thereby developing effective links through the different themes. Additionally, the director employs different camera angles and shots to reveal re lative details of the scenes, as he deems necessary. He does not use light only to illuminate his scenes but also to communicate, different aspects of the scene are lit differently with shadow balancing in order to achieve efficiency of communication. Such camera movements as tilting and panning help reveal detail in the different scenes. Italian neorealism refers to a movement in the film production characterized by using nonprofessional actors and setting the film contexts in poor neighborhoods. The bicycle film exhibits this throughout the story line as a poor father searching for his bicycle in a post war Rome.Relative film appeal arises from the level of professionalism that director employs in the development of the film and the issues that the film addresses. A film like Bicycle thieves may have limited appeal since it does not employ professionalism and addresses themes unfamiliar to the contemporary film audience unlike citizen Kane that the director strives to incorporate as many film production elements and professionalism as possible. The Birth of a Nation addresses realistic themes professionally; the director employs such features as dramatization and enabling characterization to help depict the ideas in the storyline. The effective creation of the film lies on the director’s ability to employ suc h elements as transitions, camera movement, shots, and angles to help provide detail (Mamer 33).The two films by Martin McDonagh appeared repetitive as the director employs the same stylistic features of production similarly. The lack of originality in the creation of the film thus denies them efficacy.Quentin Tarantino is a great producer who understood the business in film; he addresses themes that sell and does so effectively. His ability to infuse the violence in systematic storyline is artistic; furthermore, he uses diverse film production techniques to result in original masterpieces.

Formulation of committee After planning of strategy, it is a herculean task to implement, manage and maintain the strategy. A team is needed to create to implement and maintain the efficacy of the strategy. Establishment of strategic committee is extremely important for the betterment of organisation. And Operating committee include middle managers and other frontline supervisors implementing all the action need to be achieved in limited time zone (Steiner). And finally, Chandler health assures that there exist a healthy and harmonious interaction and relationship among the individual within the strategic community and act as a unit. 4. Establish transparency within the staff of the organisation. For the effective execution of strategy, each and every individual employed within the organisation must be conscious and have a profound insight about the vision, mission, values and aim of the strategy. As transparency within the staff is the major value of Chandler health, organisation is committed to provide a level of transparency with the staff so that there is better exchange and sharing of ideas, expansion of innovative insight, critical investigation and give and take discussion (Swayne, Ducan Ginter 2013; Davis 2014). Communication undoubtable plays a vital role in the delivery of the information. In order to enhance effectiveness of strategy and to minimise errors, Chandler Health has formulated an efficient communicating strategy (Mortenius et al. 2011; Davis 2014). And further on organisation has focused to allot simple, transparent, accurate and understandable format and means of communication to employees as incomplete, complex communication misguide the staff from the goals of the organisation. Oral Pathway: Meeting, Seminar, workshops and training Written Pathway: Newspaper, Organisation magazine and broachers, reports, researches and bulletins Electronic Pathway: E-mails, official websites and other visuals means. On the other hand, chandler Health actuate all the core member of the organisation and employee to be expressive and receptive while communicating and respect individuals (Davis 2104) and planning to introduce â€Å"SBAR (Situation-Background- Assessment- Recommendation)† (Davis 2014) â€Å"a system of communicating crucial and cardinal information requiring prompt decision and operation. 5. Evaluation of strategy Evaluation of the strategy is the major phenomenon to measure the progress of the organisation (Pumet). Chandler Health organisation is obligated to conduct; â€Å"Customer experience online survey system† (Forest Research 2007) and collect all the feedback from the customers about the facilities and healthcare delivered by the organisation, as Chandler health believe in customer centricity which not only refines healthcare and services but also motivates to meet the appetite and intention of the consumers (Lutz 2008). â€Å"Balance score sheet† that measures the outcome of four field of organisation; relationship with consumers, interpersonal relation, values of organisation, and financial structure of organisation (Braam Nijssen 2004). Annual meeting of the all the stakeholders including staffs of the chandler health organisation and discuss about the feedback, issues and hardship induces in the implementation and action process of the strategy. Identify the flaws of strategy through discussion and amend it in future. A Character Study on Tybalt and Mercutio, and as Director What :: Drama

A Character Study on Tybalt and Mercutio, and as Director What Instructions I would give the Actors Taking on their Parts Romeo and Juliet is a world famous play written by William Shakespeare. The tale is of two lovers suicide when their feuding families keep them apart. The families have been sworn enemies for generations they are wealthy, powerful and often violent. Some characters are quiet without much involvement, others the play revolves around, Tybalt and Mercutio are somewhere in the middle they do not greatly contribute to the main story line, however they form the base of it, even though they both are killed early on. They create the atmosphere and reality aspect in the story. The prologue sets the scene, briefly summarizing the story and emphasising the trouble in Verona. We are told of the feud between two credential families, the Montague's and the Capulet's, there have been three civil brawls caused by them, 'from ancient grudge beaks new mutiny' the city is in chaos. This makes the environment for Tybalt ideal, as he relishes fighting. Tybalt (A.K.A prince of cats) is a passionate swordsman. He was born to violent times in troubled Verona, therefore he lives and breathes fighting. He has known nothing but chaos throughout his life as he is a Capulet, sworn enemy to all Montague's and their companions (including Mercutio, Romeo's [Montague] best friend). Tybalt lives to the extreme, his mannerisms are eccentric and he repeatedly overreacts, he takes simple things out of context and always reacts violently as he knows nothing else. For example, in Act1 Scene1, as Benvolio seeks peace he cries 'what, art tho drawn amongst these heartless hinds? Turn thee Benvolio and look upon thy death.' This shows his willingness to kill without mercy, on the slightest pretence. Therefore considering first impressions, as director I would chose an actor to be Tybalt that has an Italian influence in his appearance, and accent. He would have 'rugged' features and deep, brown, fiery eyes to correlate with his delicate temper, this in my opinion, giving the impression of a key member in a Mafia. He would have brown/black short hair and a small 'goatee' but the rest of his face would be clean-shaven to show he takes great pride in his intimidating appearance. His clothes would also reflect this, wearing dark colours and always looking smart, again based on the stereotype of a gang member. Egyptian Culture Essay

The Culture of Egypt is one of the most ancient cultures and has five thousand years of history. It can be said that it is one of the richest cultures of the world as ancient Egypt was among the earliest civilizations. Egyptian culture is known to have a significant influence on other cultures such as Europe, the Middle East and Africa. However, soon after the Pharaonic era, Egypt came under the influence of Hellenism, then Christianity, and later, Arab and Islamic culture. Modern Egypt continues to have the ancient Egypt’s culture including the influence of modern Western culture, itself with roots in Ancient Egypt (Wikipedia n. ag, 2007). Ancient Egyptian In the ancient Egyptian culture religion played a very important role. In fact without the ancient Egyptian Religion, there would perhaps not much reason for today’s increasing tourism. The great Pyramids of Egypt’s are a major attraction. These huge structures would not exist, nor the fabulous temples, the tombs on the West Bank of Thebes and their mummies, or the colorful decorations on these structures that have attracted travelers to Egypt over the past three thousand years or more. Behind every aspect of Egyptian life, as well as the art, and the cultural accomplishments it is important to understand the religious forces that formed the cultural aspects of ancient Egypt. Religion The spiritual or the religious world that was formed by the ancient Egyptians was a richly fascinating one which remains unique in the history of human religion. Although Egyptian religion was often covered in layers of myth and ritual, it on the other hand permeated the ancient civilization of the Nile and eventually shaped, sustained and directed Egyptian culture in almost every way. In fact if we look at the ancient history, people were more worried of the afterlife than the day to day life. Egyptians believed that they could enjoy life after death that made them to prepare for their death and burial. For instance, they construct pyramids and tombs for kings and queens. Other Egyptians had similar tombs. Additionally, it was very important in order to have a good afterlife for one to not only worship the Egyptian gods, but also live by a rules and regulations that would be judged after death. Ancient Egyptians also believed that the bodies of the dead had to be preserved for the next life and so they mummified the bodies. Even though there was a substantial amount of stability between various areas of Egypt and over the religion’s long existence, there were several changes over the past years and changes in the theology. For instance, while some 1,500 gods and goddesses are known by name from ancient Egypt, many of them were not worshipped at any one time or in any one place. As a result it is possible for one to observe variations over the years and cultural differences. Eventually, several changes took place in the religious aspects. For example, the burial practices of the Egyptians, which were definitely affected by their religious ideologies, went from simple mastabas in the very early periods and during the Predynastic Period, to monumental pyramids during the Old and Middle Kingdoms. This tradition of pyramids and tombs reduced preferring instead to have hidden tombs with no superstructures at all. Perhaps part of the reason for this was the security of the tomb and its content of valuables, though it did not do much to stop the tomb robbers. Another reason behind this was the Egyptian religion’s movement towards Osiris. The god Osiris also seems accountable for another major change in Egyptian religion through its long history along with the popularity it gained. Osiris was a democratic god who without a doubt became more and more popular because the theology surrounding him allowed even common Egyptians the chance of immortality after their death. Believes and Values There are certain beliefs and rituals that still remained. For instance, there seems to have always been a sun god from the earliest of times, however his worship too changed over time, and sometimes significantly. The sun god Re was worshipped at Egypt’s earliest shrines and his worship most likely reached a high point during the late Old Kingdom, when kings not only built their pyramids, but also specialized temples to worship the sun god. Additionally, the rituals main part was the offerings, but there were certainly numerous other rituals, together with many daily functions such as washing and clothing the gods. There are a few rituals that were major celebrations, for example, the statue of one god might be taken to visit the cult center of another. The advantage with this system was that it was mostly during these festivals that common Egyptians probably came closest to their gods, since at other times they were forbidden from the sanctuaries that housed the cult statues. A value system in the Egyptian culture formed a great part as it is even almost the same way that it is today. It can be said that most of the value systems present today in the modern day is adopted form the ancient Egyptian culture. Undoubtedly, the value system had both a secular and religious side. In terms of religious believe, as in many religions today, each person was judged upon death for his or her actions during life, and either condemned to be a member of the damned or the blessed (Watson n. pag). Another aspect of the culture comes with the style of traditions. For instance, the ancient Egyptians were the first civilization to regard marriage as a legal relationship. Marriage in ancient Egypt was a religious obligation. The ancient Egyptian laws prepared the marriage relationship and indicated all rights and duties for the couples. Many of the old marriage contracts have been found, and they were registered and signed by three officers. These ancient Egyptian laws gave the right of divorce to women as well as men, and the wife had great respect and a high degree of prestige (El-Bialy n. pag, 2003). Even today these cultures have been adopted by many other cultures. Egyptology In the recent years, the Egyptian culture has had a great impact on the archaeology and the study of Egypt’s ancient heritage. The field of Egyptology has itself become a major scientific subject of great interest in Egypt and also around the world. It began in Arab Egypt during the Middle Ages, but was later led by Europeans and Westerners in modern times. However in the recent decades the study of Egyptology, has been taken up by Egyptian archaeologists such as Zahi Hawass and the Supreme Council of Antiquities he leads. With the discovery of the Rosetta Stone (a tablet written in ancient Greek) Egyptian Demotic script, and Egyptian hieroglyphs, has in part been credited for the recent stir in the study of Ancient Egypt. Greek which is a well known language, gave linguists the capability to decode the mysterious Egyptian hieroglyphic language. The ability to decode hieroglyphics facilitated the translation of hundreds of the texts and inscriptions that were earlier impossible to read, giving insight into Egyptian culture that would have otherwise been lost to the ages. This stone was discovered on July 15, 1799 in the port town of Rosetta, Egypt, and has been held in the British Museum since 1802 (Wikipedia n. pag, 2007). Economics Today, the major economic activities of Egypt depend on agriculture, mining, manufacturing, transportation and communication and others. Tourism is a major source of revenue today. Ancient Egyptian farmers relied on the annual floods of the Nile River to irrigate their fields and renew their top soil. Conclusion Finally, it can be said that the rich Egyptian culture has an impact on the various modern day cultures. It was the birth place of one of the world’s first civilizations which arose about 5000 years ago. Egyptians developed one of the first religions to emphasize life after death. Besides, they also build many cities where many skilled architects, doctors, engineers, painters, and sculptors worked. Islam is the official religion of Egypt as about 90 % of them are Muslims. Tourists from all parts of the world travel to Egypt to see such wonders as Great Sphinx, an enormous pyramids etc. For people throughout Egypt, the beliefs and traditions of Islam form a unifying bond. In fact it is one of the richest cultures in the world.

Sexism in Brazil Brazil is one of the most known countries not only for their vast population but for their strong culture, identity, and uniqueness. Brazil is one of the largest countries located in the continent South America. The capital of Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, which is the most popular city in the country for obvious reasons. Most commonly known for the statue that overlooks the entire city day and night, Christ the Redeemer. The statue represents a strong symbol of the religion Christianity across the world, and also shows how passionate their country is for their religion. The statue has also become a cultural icon not only in Brazil but all over the world. According toEncyclopedia Britannica â€Å"It was completed in 1931 and stands 98 feet tall, its horizontally outstretched arms spanning 92 feet. The statue, made of reinforced concrete clad in a mosaic of thousands of triangular soapstone tiles, sits on a square stone pedestal base about 26 feet high, which itself is situated on a deck a top the mountain’s summit.† (Murray, 2011) Another major urban populated city in Brazil is known as Sao Paulo. Sexism Sexual Harassment In Brazil Just to give more background knowledge on the history of Brazil, according to academic article A Study Of The Country Brazil, â€Å"Because of the rapid growth experienced by this countryin terms of urban development, industrialisation and population at the beginning of the 21st century, Brazil is facing a number of social, environmental and political challenges.† (Meyer, 2010) The countries population at this moment is estimated to be around 209.3 million people according to United States census bureau. As each year continues to pass us the more and more that number rises. Also according to, A Study Of The Country Brazil, â€Å"However, it is also because of this growth that it is doing so well in terms of its economy. In fact, it is one of the world’s largest andmost significant economies. It is also the only Portuguese-speaking country in both North and South America.† (Meyer, 2010) These heritages date all the way back to the 1700’s, decades andcenturies ago. Apart from Brazil’s huge population and being geographically huge, Brazil is veryunique just as its people. Because according to, A Study Of The Country Brazil, â€Å"It comprises dense rain forests and jungles, expanses of coastline, towering mountains, oceanic archipelagos (or clusters of islands), rivers, scrublands and rolling plains. Because of such a variation in habitats available to plants and animals, Brazil boasts a rich array of fauna and flora.† (Meyer, 2010) Going back to this country’s great size and population, their population is made up with avast amount of women. Lately in Brazil their women have been overlooked not only in their everyday lives, but also as an equal part to their society. Not only in Brazil has this problem beenoccuring, it’s actually a worldwide movement by women. Most commonly known by the #Metoomovements going around all over the Unit ed States of America. Sadly Brazil doesn’t have the same appeal and attention as the United States does, and many women in Brazil are being Sexism Sexual Harassment In Brazil 3overlooked and not having any say or any representation in their government. Women basically do not have any equal rights as men do and they deserve to be treated equally just as every other women in this world does. One of the most important people playing an enormous role in this sexism issue in Brazil is the face of the country and fairly new elected president Jair Bolsonaro. According to BBC news â€Å"Jair Bolsonaro is a retired military officer and more famously known for being a Brazilianpolitician. He has served as a member of the Chamber of Deputies, representing the one of the biggest cities in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, since 1991.† (Arnold, October 2018) Lately since President Bolsonaro’s election he hasn’t been looked at too great in the media’s eyes and has seemed to be in the news for all the wrong reasons. Many beg to comparisons of United States president Donald Trump in same attitude, behavior and most importantly ideas. Also according to BBC news â€Å"However critics are worried by his praise of Brazils former dictatorship, and by his comments on race, women and homosexuality. In one infamous incident in 2015 he told a fellow lawmaker she was too ugly to rape.† (Arnold, October 2018) Since then media and other outlet sources have deemed President Bolsonaro as Trump of the Tropics. President Bolsonaro continuous controversial comments to the media, his populist approach to the way he looks and handles politics and also pro-gun stance has not helped out the sexism problem at all in Brazil, if anything it has added to it much more and made it much more difficult to help resolve. As of August 31st 2016 , the entire country of Brazil has been under construction, since the impeachment of their former president Dilma Rousseff. Mrs. Dilma was a Brazilian economist, she was the perfect leader Brazil needed and was more than fit to run office. Especially with the entire issue at hand with women inequality, with Dilma in office what better Sexism Sexual Harassment In Brazil 5people sake. But women are facing unjust behavior towards them for the sake of what ? Something has to change.Elijah Daniels Dawson RampersaudProfessor Vargas LLS 100 FY 49December 17, 2018Abstract The creation of this paper is based upon various of topics such topics, are being focussed on in only Brazil. Also it touches on what the exact problem afro-latina women face. To later lead that into the Universal Declaration of Human Rights article used and how it ties into relation with Brazil. From those articles we Sexism Sexual Harassment In Brazil 7used articles 7 and 19.Article 7 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states â€Å"All are equal before the law and are entitled without any discrimination to equal protection of the law. All are entitled to equal protection against any discrimination in violation of this Declaration and against any incitement to such discrimination.†(United Nations, 2017) Which means all people no matter color nor race are equal and under the law it prevents discrimination against people of all kinds. So now knowing the true meaning behind article 7 the question remains of how are afro-latina women in Brazil being discriminated against? Previously stated in 2017 on The International Mother’s day he said â€Å" I am absolutely convinced,[that I know], how much a woman does for the household, for the home, creating a home for the children, and if society somehow goes well and the children grow-up well, it is because of its formidable home training and, surely, it is not the men who do it, it’s the women†(C.F.F.P., 2017) For a current president to say such rash sayings about the women of Brazil only shows the amount of disrespect that is hidden behind scenes. Not only is it disrespectful but, hurtful to the working class of women who actually are being undermined just by him sharing his thoughts on what he thinks the women do in soci ety. It does not stop there in did you know that the legal age is 18 for women to be allowed to marry but, the â€Å"law allows girlsto marry at 16 with parental consent†(Tavares, 2017). Wonder why women are given the option to be married off at such an young age and the option to be married if happened to be pregnant? The answer is simple women are not set to be put at the same standards as men. That is why there is always an option to be married off no matter the age and circumstances. Also it only shows that they believe women are not capable of living without an man which is indirectly Sexism Sexual Harassment In Brazil 8discriminating against women which violates article 7. Another example of the discrimination women face is the act of sexual harassment. The â€Å"domestic workers, who are predominantly Afro-Brazilian, have been systematically harassed by their male employers. This centuries-old power play dates back to slavery.†(Caldwell, 2018). There has been thousands of women who continue to face these hardships with the help of no one, the only option is to stay quite. What is the cause of all this? It is simple they are women they are looked down upon when it comes to their social status. They do not have enough power alone to change the outcome so it makes them an easier target to discriminate against. The next article that the afro-Brazilian women used to their full advantage is article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which states â€Å"Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.†(United Nations, 2017) In other words it the right to access information of choice and the of spread the information however you may want. That is exactly what the afro-brazilian women do in order to spread the information of the hoffric events they go through. The difficulty afro-Brazilian women face when it comes to women sharing what is happening to them is almost unreal to the extent of how these acts are even still going on. In 2015 there was a campaign that was started in the United States called #MeToo which laterd on got adopted by the women of brazil. Named the â€Å"#MeuPrimeiroAssedio, or #MyFirstHarrassment. In its first five days, the hashtag racked up 82,000 tweets detailing the chronic sexual harassment of women in this South American nation. It soon spread across Latin America in Spanish translation as #MiPrimerAcoso† (Caldwell, 2018). This was the only humane way women could use the law to their advantage is thanks to article 19. Also not only Sexism Sexual Harassment In Brazil 9did they use article 19 to their advantages, but they were able to put out such information that only a afro-Brazilian could have known about like what healthcare in Brazil actually is and how if happened to afro-Brazilian plastic surgery is almost forced upon them. Afro-Brazilian women had faced all types of difficulties even healthcare which were free nationwide were going againstthem. For example â€Å"black women are two and a half times more likely to die from an abortion than white person†, why is that? (Caldwell, 2018) Women of such color are not made to be put at such a higher priority so they are put last given the worse attention to. Also to add salt to the wound afro-Brazilian women features are not even supported. Even â€Å"medical doctors may neglect black Brazilian women, but plastic surgeons pursue them. Since the 1960s, Brazilian cosmetic surgery has been included in Brazil Nationalhealth care system† which practically screams out to those women of color that a more European look is more â€Å"natural† to have(Caldwell, 2018).When coming to a humane solution to cause less of a problem with the government that is in their rights is to use social media as they were doing. Using social actually a lot easier than most make it seem because there is so much information being put out for anyone disposal. As far as afro-Brazilian women being to use the internet they should continue to work on the instagram campaign they started called ##MeuPrimeiroAssedio. This allowed them to put i nformation of what has been going in Brazil with no problem with the government. This movement on instagram has racked up too over 85,000 retweets and it has gotten a lot of young activist attention which is a positive outcome. Because of this day and age kids happen to rule the internet and anything they see and what to draw attention it is possible because of how much of an influence kids have. Not only kids influence on the internet, but since the youth is next up they have such a big part on how the governments handle situations that may affect them. Sexism Sexual Harassment In Brazil 10One of the most beautifulest places in the world also known as Brazil with the most diverse cultural ever are even facing hardships when it comes to respecting the afro-Brazilian women of the country. Even with all the mistakes and unfairness their women face their is no limit to how potential the country has to change for the better of the economy or even for the people sake. But women are facing unjust behavior towards them for the sake of what ? Something has to change. Reference Caldwell, K.L.
